CoEmpowered is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to nurturing critical thinking, creative expression, and community connection among young people, refugees, and asylum seekers. We work (mainly but not exclusively) with Kurdish and Persian speakers, creating spaces where dialogue, storytelling, literacy, philosophical enquiry, and reflective practice can flourish. At our core we want people to think independently, express themselves confidently, and build resilient, thriving communities.

We believe support should feel human. Behind every question is a real person – someone navigating change, uncertainty, or a new beginning. That is why compassion sits at the centre of everything we do. Whether someone is exploring a new language, adjusting to a new culture, or trying to make sense of the world around them, we meet them with patience and understanding.

We believe in the power of expression. Creative expression isn’t just about art, it is about expression and voice. Through storytelling, literacy workshops, and reflective practice, we help participants build confidence in their own identities and ideas. When people feel heard they begin to trust their voice, and that changes everything.

We believe information should be accessible. Systems and processes can be unclear and complicated, and language barriers can make everything seem ten times harder. We break things down, offer guidance without judgement, and create learning environments where questions are always welcome. Our goal is to make understanding feel achievable, not intimidating.

We believe community is essential. No one thrives in isolation. CoEmpowered creates spaces where people can connect share experiences and learn from one another. These connections build confidence, belonging, and resilience, opening doors for people. They turn strangers into neighbours and neighbours into support networks.

What does this mean for you? It means CoEmpowered is more than a programme it’s a community. A space for people to learn, express, question, connect and belong. We are here to help people feel confident in their voice, grounded in their identity, and supported in their journey. We are here to remind people that they don’t have to navigate any of it alone.
