Our Vision

Our vision is a world where education is accessible to everyone, women and men, regardless of background or circumstance. We strive for a world where individuals can express themselves freely, think critically, and live with dignity and confidence. We believe that through education, individuals can support one another, create real change, and build strong, connected communities.

Our Mission

Our focus is Persian- and Kurdish-speaking communities, especially young women there, who are often marginalised and disadvantaged in multiple ways. Besides working with young women, we also help refugees and asylum seekers who have immigrated to the UK, and suffer from feelings of displacement and alienation.

Our mission is to make education more accessible to those communities, as an end in itself, and as a means to independence, well-being. We envisage education in a broad, holistic sense. Education is not just about acquiring knowledge, but also involves critical pedagogy and developing individuals’ capacities for critical thinking, creative self-expression, and civic participation. Through education and other support, young women in these communities can live with dignity and independence, shaping their own futures, and navigating challenges with confidence. We also aim to empower young women in the Persian- and Kurdish-speaking world to help build their own communities and bring about lasting social change.

To work towards this future, we want to grow into a leading space for critical education and community-building. We aim to expand our reach and refine our approach so that learning is more accessible, engaging, and transformative. To achieve this, we will work with partners, educators, and researchers who share our vision, ensuring that our programmes continue to evolve and respond to real needs. We hope to build a lasting organisation that empowers individuals and communities, ensuring that those who were once excluded have the power to lead, create, and thrive.

Public Benefit Objectives

  1. To advance education through developing capacities for critical thinking and self-expression, especially among young women in Persian and Kurdish communities who face significant social barriers; both overseas, and among refugees, asylum seekers, and recent immigrants to the UK.
  2. To help young women to contribute positively to their own society, by developing their leadership skills and self-confidence, supporting their community-led initiatives, and fostering their sense of belonging.
  3. To promote the confidence and well-being of members of the Persian and Kurdish communities through initiatives to develop their skills and resilience, and help empower them to participate more fully in society.
